In this first lesson of The Mausoleum series, I go over the process of building walls and setting up the basic structure for an architectural visualization project in 3DS Max and V-Ray. I also place a camera to start shaping the scene.

I was recording this video very late at night (around 3–4 am!), so while the modeling works, it isn’t always my best — but that’s part of the process. Instead of using CAD plans, I build the walls from a photo reference, which means the approach is slightly different. Along the way, I cover key fundamentals: unit setup, using snaps effectively, auto crossing, and axis constraints to keep modeling accurate and efficient.

This tutorial is ideal if you want to learn 3DS Max and V-Ray for architecture, pick up archviz tips, and understand how to model realistic walls as part of a larger environment.

Here's a link to the youtube tutorial.

At Leon51 we create photorealistic architectural visualizations and animation, in my tutorials I share practical workflows for 3D rendering, archviz, and photorealistic visualization to help you achieve professional results in your projects.
