Learn how to create seamless, non-tiling brick textures in 3DS Max for architectural visualization (archviz) and CGI projects. This tutorial shows how to cover large surfaces like walls and facades with realistic textures while avoiding obvious tiling.
I demonstrate how to use MultiTexture from CG-Source to add natural variation to your materials, as well as Bercon Tile (available on GitHub) to create complex, customizable patterns. Simply place the Bercon maps and MultiTexture DLLs in your 3DS Max plugins folder, and you’re ready to build advanced materials.
This workflow works seamlessly with V-Ray, and may also work with Mental Ray. For other render engines like Arnold or Corona, compatibility may vary.
The building model used in this tutorial is from 3D Sky.
By following this tutorial, you’ll be able to create photorealistic brick materials, avoid obvious tiling, and enhance the realism of your archviz renders and CGI surfaces.
